To respond to the annual Earth Day (22 April), Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development Office, CUHK Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change, School of Life Sciences, and SDSN Hong Kong will organize a series of activities related to the environment and sustainability development, acting collectively to protect the Earth’s health and future.

CUHK Participates in ‘Earth Hour’ The ‘Earth Hour’ will be held on 28 March (Saturday) to take action to mitigate global warming and to reverse nature loss by 2030 in a race against time. As in previous years, CUHK will continue to participate in ‘Earth Hour’ by turning off non-essential lights on campus. At 8:30 pm that evening, the decorative flood lighting at specific campus locations will be turned off for an hour, turning a moment of darkness into a movement for our future. |

‘Earth's Palette – Climate Dialogues’ Exhibition: Meet the Artist The public can engage face-to-face with artist Bernard Chang to gain deeper insight into his creative philosophy and how he responds to climate change through art, conveying complex and urgent environmental issues while showcasing artistic beauty. After the exhibition tour, our MoCC ambassador will lead a tour of the MoCC to explore and learn about taking action on climate change. |

‘How Earthworms Save the Earth’ Talk Earthworms are often overlooked, yet they are some of nature’s most powerful ecosystem engineers. In recent years, scientists have recognised earthworms as a vital nature based solution for addressing environmental challenges, from soil degradation to climate change. In this talk, Dr Michelle Law, Lecturer at CUHK School of Life Sciences, will explore how earthworms contribute to healthier, more resilient soils and why protecting these remarkable creatures is key to sustaining life on Earth. |
