World at the Climate Crossroads

Human beings have developed a variety of ways to express their emotions about the people, interactions and physical surroundings that matter to them, among these being the spoken word, music, painting, and the performing arts.  These artistic forms of communication resonate with people more effectively than simply discussing complex issues and the corresponding solutions in everyday conversational language.  The poetic writing and performance poetry, as displayed in this exhibition, are examples of how the climate emergency evokes feeling, concern, and anxiety in contemporary society.  By presenting their views of climate change, individual contributors have attempted to re-imagine the world that they and future generations might experience.

Organized by CUHK Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change, in collaboration with the International University Climate Alliance (IUCA) and Dr Antony Huen, this exhibition presents a series of climate related poetic writings performed by 7 artists from the International Poetry slam Festival and Hong Kong, trying to express their visions and aspirations on climate change and implementing solutions to environmental crisis.
