Increasing emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) is causing us fewer ‘blue sky’ days in recent years. This has something to do with atmospheric reactions involving water vapour and VCOs oxidations. But how? A research team led by Prof. Wei Ren, Faculty of Engineering, CUHK, who just unveiled a novel method for predicting the atmospheric reactions, has the answer to it.

A research team led by Prof. Yi-Chun LU, Faculty of Engineering, CUHK, has taken a critical step forward in improving high-energy batteries by introducing a novel electrolyte to the aqueous lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery. This electrolyte is commonly used in skin cream. It is inexpensive, non-flammable, less toxic and is eco-friendly, yet can create stable voltage for common usage.
