MoCC Ambassadors Travel Grant

In 2024, the MoCC introduced the MoCC Ambassadors Travel Grant to empower outstanding MoCC Ambassadors to expand their horizons and global perspectives through participation in premier international events.

Felix Chan and Carmen Cheng attended the Global Sustainable Development Congress co-hosted by CUHK and Times Higher Education in Bangkok, Thailand in June and shared their journeys in promoting sustainable development. Katy Dong and Chan Myae Yamon Thwin engaged in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) held in November 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

 

The MoCC Ambassadors Travel Grant sponsored two students (Felix Chan and Carmen Cheng) to attend and speak at the Times Higher Education Global Sustainable Development Congress held in June 2024 in Bangkok. Another two students (Katy Dong and Chan Myae Yamon Thwin) to take part in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) held in November 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan, under the ‘conference mentorship’ offered by Professor Amos Tai, Deputy Chairperson (Education) of the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences.

MoCC, together with the Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development Office (SRSDO) at CUHK, has already distributed more than $20,000 in 2024 to outstanding MoCC Ambassadors through this travel grant.

Applications are open exclusively to active MoCC Ambassadors.
