[SDG Forum Series 2021/22] The Sound of Trees - Urban Forestry and Sustainable Development
Hong Kong may be synonymous with skyscrapers, yet it has a huge amount of green space. You may be surprised to learn that there are over 1.7 million trees planted in the urban areas of Hong Kong. How should we manage these trees? What are the conditions needed for sustainable urban forest management? What is the role of community?
Co-organized by the Office of University General Education, CUHK and the Hong Kong Chapter of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN Hong Kong), this SDG Forum will have Dr Alvin TANG to guide the audience in considering tree management from different perspectives, highlighting the relationship between tree management and the SDGs, and Mr SO Kwok Yin to elaborate on the shift in tree management from arboriculture to urban forestry.
Admission is free. All are welcome. Please click here for details.
