In this episode, Professor Jeffrey Sachs and Professor Peter Lindert, author of ‘Making Social Spending Work’, examine the experience of countries across the globe such as the United States, Denmark and Northern European countries, South American countries, and other countries around the globe to reveal what has worked, what needs changing, and who the winners and losers are under different systems.

Professor Lindert addresses key questions around how to deal with an aging population, whether migration is a cost or a benefit, and shows that what we need to do above all is to invest more in the young from cradle to career, affirming the need to spend more, but spend right.
