Saturday 3 Sep 2022
10:30am — 12:00pm
Minerals are finite natural resources on Earth and their applications are widespread in our everyday life. Why are some minerals used as jewellery, but others as building materials? This has a deal to do with the minerals’ physical properties.
Co-organized by the Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change (MoCC) and the Earth and Environmental Sciences Programme of CUHK, the ‘Earth’s Secret Minerals’ workshop will explore the relationship between minerals’ physical structure and characteristics through the application of augmented reality (AR) technology. All are welcome, especially those interested in geography, chemistry and natural substances.
