Forum on Environmental Justice and Resilience The impacts of climate change and environmental degradation, as heavily discussed at COP27, are not evenly distributed among all members of the human family. While Hong Kong is not immediately affected by such impacts, do we have a particular role in advocating for politics and advancing actions that prioritize the needs and perspectives of marginalized communities, such as in the Asia-Pacific region? This forum aims to bring insights together in addressing the concerns over global environmental justice in the context of Hong Kong and beyond. The webinar will be conducted in English. | Ms CHAN Man Yee, Eliza | Ms Shawntel NIETO is the Co-Founder and President of Sustainable PH Inc., and of the One Cainta Food Program. She is likewise a co-founder and co-host of SustainaRumble!, a TV host under IBC Channel 13, and a consultant under Deloitte’s Climate and Sustainability business unit. Through the organizations she has co-founded, she has provided food, water, disaster relief, and supplementary education to over 700,000 people across 20 cities and 11 hospitals in the Philippines. She obtained her Bachelors in Management of Applied Chemistry as the program awardee (degree valedictorian) in 2017 and her Masters in Sustainability Management in 2019. She has worked as a researcher focused on social entrepreneurship and sustainability, as a corporate analyst under JP Morgan & Chase Inc., and as the country manager of CSRWorks International – a global sustainability consulting firm. For her work over the past seven years, she has been selected as a Dalai Lama Fellow and One Young World Scholar, was awarded the (Princess) Diana Award, was selected as one of the Philippines’ Ten Outstanding Young Men and Women (TOYM) Awardees for 2022, and was listed as a Forbes 30 Under 30 Honoree for Social Impact. |

Senior Manager (Community Resilience), Community Resilience Service, Hong Kong Red Cross Eva Yeung is the Senior Manager of Community Resilience Service from Hong Kong Red Cross. She is enthusiastic in enhancing participatory approaches in community resilience programmes and engaged in humanitarian and development field with INGOs for years. She is a member of the Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group since 2014 and is the member of the Urban Hub Core Group of the International Red Cross Movement. |
| Ms Natalie CHUNG |
Member, Council for Carbon Neutrality and Sustainable Development, and Co-Founder, V’air Hong Kong Natalie Chung is a leading climate advocate and social entrepreneur, recognised by The Japan Times and Eco-Business as one of the most impactful youth climate leaders driving change in Asia. At the age of 18, she co-founded V’air Hong Kong, a social enterprise which promotes low-carbon local tourism as means to mitigate climate change. At the policy level, Natalie is committed to advancing carbon neutrality in Hong Kong and mainland China. She has been appointed to serve at the Council for Sustainable Development and Green Tech Fund Assessment Committee of the Hong Kong Government. Natalie holds an MPhil in Environmental Change and Management at University of Oxford as the Esther Yewpick Lee Millennium Scholar, and a Bachelor of Social Science in Geography and Resource Management. She has co-authored two books on hiking and tourism. She was elected as the only Hong Kong representative at the Dr Sylvia Earle Antarctic Climate Expedition 2023, advocating for climate policies at the intersection of ocean conservation alongside 110 renowned marine biologists, climate researchers and policymakers. |
