SDSN PH/HK/TH Networks Webinar: Incubating Sustainable Solutions (Ended)

Youth plays a leading role in the future of sustainability, especially for their creative and innovative potential. Co-organized by SDSN Philippines, SDSN Hong Kong, and SDSN Thailand, the “Incubating Sustainable Solutions” webinar is delighted to have three sustainability champions to share their insights and journeys in developing solutions for sustainable development in their respective regions.

The webinar will be conducted in English. Admission is free. All are welcome.

Speaker Biographies:

Ms Shawntel NIETO Ms Shawntel NIETO is the Co-Founder and President of Sustainable PH Inc., and of the One Cainta Food Program. She is likewise a co-founder and co-host of SustainaRumble!, a TV host under IBC Channel 13, and a consultant under Deloitte’s Climate and Sustainability business unit. Through the organizations she has co-founded, she has provided food, water, disaster relief, and supplementary education to over 700,000 people across 20 cities and 11 hospitals in the Philippines. She obtained her Bachelors in Management of Applied Chemistry as the program awardee (degree valedictorian) in 2017 and her Masters in Sustainability Management in 2019. She has worked as a researcher focused on social entrepreneurship and sustainability, as a corporate analyst under JP Morgan & Chase Inc., and as the country manager of CSRWorks International – a global sustainability consulting firm. For her work over the past seven years, she has been selected as a Dalai Lama Fellow and One Young World Scholar, was awarded the (Princess) Diana Award, was selected as one of the Philippines’ Ten Outstanding Young Men and Women (TOYM) Awardees for 2022, and was listed as a Forbes 30 Under 30 Honoree for Social Impact.
Mr Jirapat HORESAENGCHAI

Mr Jirapat HORESAENGCHAI (Jerry) is the Thailand Program Manager for New Energy Nexus and he leads Thailand accelerator program and supports clean energy entrepreneurs from idea to growth stage. Prior to joining New Energy Nexus, Jerry had been working in corporate innovation, and corporate venture capital helping leading industries engage with starts and innovations.

Mr Thierry LEUNG

Mr Thierry LEUNG studied Bachelor of Social Work at Hong Kong Shue Yan University, and is a registered social worker in Hong Kong. He has more than ten years of working experience in non-profit organizations, focusing on children and youth, and mental health. Currently, he is with CarbonCare InnoLab (CCIL), empowering local young people to speak up for Climate Change. He is in charge of CCIL’s “Climate Advocacy Training for Youth” (CATY) programme, UN Climate Change Conference field trips (previously COP26 and COP27), and Local Conference of Youth Hong Kong (LCOY) (previously 2021 and 2022). Besides, he joined COP27 as an official UNFCCC Youth Delegate.
