CUHK Participates in Earth Hour 2024 The ‘Earth Hour’ will be held on 23 March (Saturday) to raise public awareness of climate change and loss of nature. Similar to previous years, CUHK will continue to participate in ‘Earth Hour’ by turning off the non-essential lights on campus. At 8:30 pm that evening, the decorative flood lighting at specific campus locations will be turned off for an hour as a gesture of support. |

Global Conference on Climate Change: Polar Studies, Environment and Climate Change The Global Conference on Climate Change: Polar Studies, Environment, and Climate Change, hosted by the Chinese University of Hong Kong and co-organized by the Hong Kong Chapter of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN Hong Kong), the Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change, and the Polar Research Institute of Hong Kong, will be held on 9–10 April. The 2-day conference seeks to facilitate collaboration, exchange knowledge and solution-based discussions among scientists, researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, and community representatives worldwide through a multidisciplinary and multifocal approach. |

Into the Extreme: A Scientific Journey of Xuelong 2 The Xuelong 2 is China’s first domestically built polar icebreaker and scientific research vessel. It is dedicated to conducting scientific expeditions to study climate change. It undertakes important tasks and has carried out several scientific expeditions to the North and South Poles. In this exhibition, scientist Natalie will take you aboard the Xuelong 2 as it embarks on an Antarctic expedition. This will give you a deeper understanding of the research work and the challenges faced by the Xuelong 2. |

CUHK Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change Eco-tours (2-hour per session) Discover the world’s first dedicated climate change museum with our MoCC ambassadors, you will be introduced to climate change-related exhibits and shared climate change adaptation and mitigation measures.
